PERSONALITY

Teagan, better known as Tea or Tan by friends, is a bit of a battered soul. She's gone most of her life feeling like she doesn't fit in, and as a result has developed some really bad anxiety about people and making friends. It's hard to get close to her. She's been rejected time and time again, feeling like nothing but a nuisance and a burden that she has finally started to believe it. As a result, she tends to come off as cold, a little hard to get close to unless another person pushes to grow the relationship. That's not to say she'll be rude on first meeting, her adoptive parents have taught her better and she is very respectful and cordial, but won't be quite friendly or open to pursuing a friendship right away. Once you've gotten past the surprisingly easy to break exterior, you find the real Tea.
Tea is a very fun, playful girl. She likes to be goofy and make silly jokes. Her ideal way to spend a night is at her house, drinking, gossiping, dancing to music, playing games and overall just spending time with people. Feeling somewhat starved for attention over the years, once you've made a friend of her the check-ins and hang outs will be plentiful. She's got quite a dark, almost abrasive sense of humour, with plenty of sarcasm. Her ideal relationship, friend or otherwise, is someone who can just banter with her like an old married couple. Admittedly, to get to that level will take a bit, but even friends that aren't incredibly close will have found themselves a powerful ally in her.
On the other hand, in crossing her is to make an incredibly vengeful enemy. Teagan is the type to hold a grudge, and let it simmer and grow until something bad happens. She's the type that bottles most of her sadness and insecurities, but she will let her anger age like a fine wine, never forgetting and never really forgiving. Any sort of gossip about those she dislikes comes her way is given away for a penny in comparison to her other peddled items.
HISTORY
Born Xiomara Dominguez, she did not stay that way for long as she was swiftly taken in by Esme and Daniel Weisz. Originally, she was born to a teenaged witch who made a mistake, one she was willing to part ways with and never see again. Her name was promptly changed to Teagan, as her adoptive parents couldn't sire their own children. Esme was a witch, and Daniel was a human. Honestly, this was as close as she could get to her original family, as the dynamics were the same but Teagan would never know that. Instead, all she would know is that her mother had made "the best decision" for her, transferring her off to the German couple who couldn't pronounce her true name. Esme was kind, almost overly kind as she seemed to feel some sort of guilt over the situation. She showered Teagan with too much affection, smothering her. While Daniel, having hoped for a human child, pulled away due to his insecurity about dealing with a child witch. She was raised without a coven, without a group of her own to rely on; just her too-close mother and her distant father.
Life until she was 18 was otherwise boring and normal. School, clubs, things that humans would deem normal, but even then standing out in a bad way amongst her peers. Rumours circled, she was not normal. Although her life was portrayed as normal, to others something seemed off about her, and thus she was excluded. Even her powers wouldn't manifest that much, making all around her wonder if she was truly a witch or if she was a human. It wasn't until her teens that her power manifested, so that when she was 18, she received that all too coveted invitation to Our Lady; one she would accept zealously. A chance to find friends. A chance to be around others like her. She jumped on it despite Esme trying to force her down the same path of no-coven life. Teagan wanted more for herself. Teagan hoped for more for herself. Teagan found herself deeply disappointed.
Life at Our Lady was all too similar as to her life before. Maybe it was her excitable nature, but those around her seemed to keep her at a distance... if not completely out of the way. Although she was a powerful witch in her own right, she pushed her own studies aside to try and be a personable witch with friends. She did not succeed. Teagan really started hating people. She really was tired of people and groups and covens and when she got to free herself from it all, wanted no part in any of it. Instead, she aligned herself neutrally, opening a shop at 27 that would deal in importing and selling magical items of various rarities. For humans, a good luck charm, and in the back room for witches, ingredients for potions that cannot be found in North America.
She set her business up on her own, reaching out to all the factions to advertise her services and was successful in her dealings. A woman of her word, she provided the finest of services in managing to track down rare artifacts, but also in providing information. As long as the price is right, she's willing to sell it... for the most part. A clever business woman, she's not the type to sell something that is of more value to her, even if the price is right. Her multifaceted business leaves her in a slightly precarious, but valuable position of information and artifact dealer/importer... who will cast a spell if you so need her. The small store front is mostly run by her, and sometimes a few others she's hired, but she is on location every day the shop is open. A workaholic in her own right.
