Azalea Alliance

The Azalea Alliances spans back to 1718 as the predominant people of power within the new city. The Azalea Alliance was formed as a way for vampires migrating to the city to be able to form new nests and gain more protections within the city. The name for the Azalea Alliance comes from a stone azalea that would be purchased by migrant vampires. The stone would be affixed to the doorway of their home and would serve two purposes. It was a physical sign of vampires and allowed them to be easily identified by other vampires. It was also enchanted by local witches to provide protections to the vampires while they slept. While the vampires were part of the first supernatural communities to settle New Orleans, they have lost their power and respect currently. Vampires feuded quietly with werewolves for years of territories, resources, and power. In 2016, they lost the largest war yet and were forced to pay restitutions to the werewolves. Bankrupt and powerless, the vampires cling to their former glory and old world ideals. Vampires within the Azalea Alliance are protective of each other, they give what they can to others, and defend them. There are family families that are not part of the Azalea Alliance and do not have these protections.
