Dominique, or Niqui as she prefers to be called can often be described as a wolf in sheep's clothing. Being raised in a wolf family, it was the only way for her to survive. She was often underestimated and looked down on for her lack of an ability by members of their pack and had to work twice as hard to gain any respect from them. Growing up as a human in a wolf family, she had to learn how to stand up for herself and make sure no one was attempting to take advantage of her otherwise trusting nature. She's a fan of the mentality of "fool me once shame on you, fool me again I give your name to my extensive werewolf family".
Another thing about Niqui is the way that she perceives the world through her synesthesia. Niqui has a condition that causes a "crossover" within her senses. She can hear someone, listen to their voices and their tones, and have a taste form in her mouth. She started using this ability to cook for her loved ones. It was the start of her work as a chef and gained her a reputation as being able to create interesting dishes and catering menus for specific people.
HISTORY
"Dominique!"
Being called Dominque means only one thing. Mom and Dad. Dominique was the first born child of high ranked Oak Hill parents. They were loyal to the Robespierre family to nearly a fault and worked hard to prove it to the family. Dominique's mother was born a human, but turned when she and her husband got married. She disavowed her human family and dedicated herself solely to the Oak Hill family and pack. Her father was born as a werewolf and came from a long line of strong werewolves. Often citing that he could trace his family heritage back to some of the first battles against the vampires. Dominique's father was a member of the army that went up against the vampires when they were eventually outed to the world. When she was young, her parents noticed something weird about their oldest daughter.
She was born a human. She never had a first change, she never took the werewolf skin that their family had for generations. The parents grieved the loss of the child that they thought they would have and became distant towards their oldest daughter for years over it. When their younger children started to change and take to the woods as beasts, they had the children they wanted and didn't go out of their way to make sure that Dominique continued to feel like part of the family.

The first person to call her Niqui was her best friend Gideon. Gideon's family was a lower ranked member of Oak Hill and he was one of the only kids in the community that was nice to her and didn't constantly threaten to bite her. Gideon would take her on adventures around New Orleans and show her all of his favorite places. The nickname passed around to her siblings, who also cared deeply for their "weird human" older sister. Niqui and Gideon would take her siblings on their adventures and gave Niqui a small pack of her own. One where she was supported and cared for.
When she was eighteen and graduated from high school, Gideon was the one who convinced her to use her "weird ass brain" and become a chef. To this day, she's convinced that if it hadn't been for him she never would have made it. Learning how to cook professionally, working in shitty New Orleans restaurants, and paying her dues, she eventually rose up to sous chef as a well known bistro. It was during this time that Gideon was told to leave the Oak Hill community for his vocal opinions about the treatment of humans within this new world order. He was asked to leave and Niqui gave him a couch to sleep on. They eventually got a two bedroom apartment and have living together since.

After working for nearly a decade in various restaurants and bistros, Niqui was able to open The Black Sheep, a place that was all hers. The first night of owning her restaurant, she spent the night out with Gideon and her other friends. They partied and drank and had an amazing time. To this day, she considers it one of the best nights of her life. Currently, she is still running The Black Sheep, still spending time with her siblings (not so much her parents anymore, they still have not eaten a meal she's made), and still living with Gideon.
